WLA ANNOUNCES OUTSTANDING GOALTENDER AND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR


GOALTENDER OF THE YEAR

Burnaby, BC – The WLA is pleased to announce the winner of the 2025 Goaltender of the Year

Award to Christian Del Bianco of the Coquitlam Adanacs. Del Bianco finished the regular season with 592 saves, a goal against average of 105 and an 84.9 save percentage.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR


Burnaby, BC – The WLA is pleased to present the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year Award to Drew Belgrave from the New West Salmonbellies. Belgrave is a consistent and dominant force on the defensive end of the floor, and an integral part of the Salmonbellies transition game.

The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) is an amateur league of men’s Senior A box lacrosse sanctioned by the Canadian Lacrosse Association. It consists of seven teams, based in cities throughout southwestern British Columbia. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the right to compete against the Major Series Lacrosse champion for the Mann Cup every September. The championship is hosted alternately between Ontario and British Columbia every year.
